Location

Head down from Colombo (2h drive by the highway) to Ahangama. Once you reach the famed surf spot, Kabalana Beach, head up 350m and within a few minutes enter a new environment.

Hidden amongst the palm trees and lush greenery you will find Licuala. In this spacious serene garden property you will find our deluxe bungalows. The only disruption to your privacy may be a monkey peeking through the window.

The space at Licuala was designed to inspire your inner creative. Each bungalow is intentionally arranged with artwork from around the world and eclectic design elements. The property also hosts a rejuvenating plunge pool and stylized outdoor seating for you to enjoy your jungle sanctuary.

Hidden away in the corner, amongst the lush jungle, you’ll find our latest addition we call the Tropical bungalow, which is inspired by the tiny house concept.

The high ceiling and all glass front provides a sense of space and allows you to enjoy the outdoors in the comfort of the indoors. The bungalow has its own patio, made private by the surrounding foliage.

Our land was once muddy and infertile where only the wild could grow. Learning how to work with nature, we put in much love, care and sweat to develop the land. And now, not only do we have a thriving jungle garden, we can grow rice. It is truly a luxury to be able to grow food on your land and enjoy the fruits of your labour.

Meet Roscoe, our resident doggo. He’s 2 years old. If he does see you, he’ll come up to you to make friends. He loves to play but he does run out of steam so can’t go for long. Petting and getting love however, he can go on and on. He is too cute!

"The villa exceeded our expectations, it's a lovely place with the “personal jungle” in the yard. It was a pleasure to wake up every morning overlooking the blue skies and palm trees, which are clearly visible through the large panoramic windows throughout the house. Separately, I want to note the thoughtful interior design, all the details are selected with taste and perfectly complement each other. The villa is surrounded by a spacious, well-maintained area with numerous plants and palm trees. There is a small swimming pool in which it is nice to cool off on a hot morning after charging in nature. A family of monkeys came to visit us almost every day, it was very interesting to watch them and feed us fruits. Right in our yard we met: mongooses, peacocks, turtles, palm squirrels, monkeys (macaque and langurs), lizards, geckos. We also had a very affectionate cat of the neighbors and 2 friendly dogs. Special thanks to the staff deserves: helpful and friendly people! Any questions were resolved as soon as we contacted you"
